Welcome
to the climbing section of the Cave and Crag
Club
We are a small climbing club
with a dedicated group of members who enjoy
climbing in the
UK
and abroad.

PROGRAM
Along with the scheduled
calendar events our members try and get outside
as much as possible, regular venues include The
Peak,
Wye
Valley
and
Wales
. We have an excellent club hut at Tremadog in
North Wales, situated right on top of Tremadog
cliffs, with the
Llamberis
Pass
and Snowdonia about 40 minutes away.
Every year dependent on
conditions some members make the journey North
of the Border for the unique experience that is
Scottish Winter climbing.
We also climb indoors every
Wednesday with a visit to the pub afterwards for
a chat. As
Birmingham
has two good walls we use both to keep things a
little more interesting. On even numbered
Wednesdays we meet at the Epic Centre (Creation
Wall) in Moseley and on odd numbered Wednesdays
we go to Redpoint. (See the Links section for
address details)
The Club is always on the
lookout for new members (and venues for meets)
and we welcome interest from climbers of any
ability. If you are thinking of joining, the
climbing section is very friendly and you can
always find someone to tie on with, we do not
maintain fixed climbing partnerships to the
exclusion of newcomers.
Learning To Climb
The Cave and Crag Club does not undertake to
teach people to climb. The club has no qualified
instructors. However once you have undergone a
short course in the basics of ropework we
endeavour to provide an atmosphere in which
newcomers will be made welcome, will be helped
along in the their climbing development and will
be introduced into the network of climbers
within the Club (and so you will have someone to
climb with at the wall).
Basic instruction can be provided by Redpoint
Climbing Centre in Birmingham where the club
meets on a Wednesday evening. If you want to
talk to someone about climbing on a Wednesday or
about who to contact concerning basic
instruction, contact the club and we will
forward your request to an appropriate club
member.
If you would like to climb
with us then drop me an email using the
‘Contact Us’ button.
Have fun with your climbing.
