Other Club Activities

Club members don’t limit themselves to caving, climbing and walking. Many members are also active cyclists who enjoy regular mountain and road biking. The club is well located for mountain biking at Cannock Chase but other trips have included Afan Bike Park in South Wales, the Forest of Dean and the Long Mynd in Shropshire. At many of the club’s climbing meets members will bring their bikes in case the weather doesn’t lend itself to a day on the rock face.

The club also organises a social canoe and camping meet, usually taking in a different stretch of the River Wye each year. Facility on the rock face does not always translate to the water however!

Indoor meets are organised for the winter months which provide an opportunity for members to catch up on each other’s adventures across the globe. The club organises climbing at different indoor walls, a Christmas Curry and an annual 10 of the Best photo event. Members also attend climbing/outdoor film screenings such as Britrock, Reel Rock and the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

Many impromptu activities take place and are advertised on the club’s Facebook page or via email.
